Delete Your Account

Revision 2026-08-12.3 · May 26, 2026

This English document is the controlling original.

These deletion instructions are a working legal draft and require qualified legal review before production publication.

You can delete your Scenery account from inside the app, or by email if you no longer have it. This page describes what deletion removes, what it does not remove, and how long other records are kept.

1. Delete in the app

Sign in, open Profile > Settings, select Delete Account in Danger Zone, and confirm. Account deletion is irreversible.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancel it in your Apple or Google account; if you subscribed on the web, cancel it through RevenueCat Web Billing. Cancel before deleting your account, because afterwards the management link we stored for you is gone.

2. Request deletion without the app

If you cannot use the app, email support@sceneryaudio.com from the account email with the subject “Account Deletion Request.” We will verify identity and aim to complete a valid request within 30 days.

3. What deletion removes

Deletion removes from our servers your profile, including your display name, email address, profile photo, language, and settings; your taste profile, track scores, and liked and disliked track lists; your listening history; your likes; your cloud download records; your daily listening usage; your playlists and their contents; your issue reports and the screenshots attached to them; your share links; your notification inbox, notification preferences, registered push devices, and notification delivery records for both email and push; and your sign-in identity, including any linked Google or Apple identity, which is deleted last.

Profile photos and issue screenshots are removed from storage on a best-effort basis. If that step fails, deletion still continues and still reports success, so a stored image can occasionally outlive the account it belonged to.

4. What deletion does not remove

Some data deliberately or unavoidably outlives the account.

A historical snapshot taken during a July 2026 database migration still holds the account identifier, taste profile, track scores, and liked track IDs as they were at that time. It is not covered by the deletion routine.

Catalogue tracks, their processed audio and artwork, and the media-processing job records survive deletion; only the link to the owning account is removed.

Data held on your own device is deliberately kept, so that deleting an account does not erase downloads you manage: downloaded audio and its download records, your likes, your playlist names and order, and the cached catalogue all remain. Only the cached profile, entitlement state, and sign-in session are cleared. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes the rest.

Your customer record at RevenueCat is not deleted or anonymized, and no deletion request is sent to our email provider. The device you delete from does ask Firebase Cloud Messaging to delete that device’s own push token, but on a best-effort basis: deletion continues and still reports success if the call fails, and a token registered on any other device is removed from our records without being deleted at Firebase. Their own retention is governed by them.

5. Limited retention

Billing, fraud-prevention, security, backup, dispute, and legal-compliance records may be retained only for the limited period reasonably required or permitted.

While an account is still active, some records are pruned on a fixed schedule rather than kept until deletion: daily usage after 180 days, read or dismissed notifications after 180 days, notification delivery records after 90 days, and expired share links 30 days after they expire. Each figure is a floor, not an exact deadline — a weekly sweep does the pruning, so a record can survive its window by up to a week. See the Privacy Policy for the current draft retention disclosure.
